Former Bachelor stars Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici have been making the most of their reality TV fame lately. After meeting and marrying on The Bachelor, the couple has popped up frequently on other shows. They appeared with Jason and Molly Mesnick on Celebrity Wife Swap earlier this week, but that experience has proven to be anything but fun. Sean recently spoke out to let his fans know that he’s not the self-centered oaf that he appeared to be on the show.

During their ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ episode–in which Catherine switched lives and households with Molly–viewers saw a new side of Sean. Between his demands for only super-healthy food to making his wife complete a “To-Do” list of stupid chores like ironing his socks, viewers were appalled by Sean’s behavior.
“Oof, Sean seems to have Catherine brainwashed. This relationship is insane. The Mesnicks are great though,” one Twitter user wrote.
“Not a super huge fan of Sean,” another wrote. “He does know it’s 2015 and women do more then clean and cook right?”
After the episode aired and Sean saw how his fans were reacting, he took to his blog to set a few things straight. In an article titled, “5 Things You Wouldn’t Know About Me If You Only Watched ‘Wife Swap,"” Sean revealed that the show was edited to make him look like someone he’s not.
“Wife Swap… yeah that didn’t go as expected. For those of you who didn’t get to watch the episode last night, I was painted as a domineering, selfish, controlling husband – a jerk. A husband who seemed to only care about himself and not his wife. I’ll be honest with you, even though I knew most people would be able to see through the ‘character’ they created, it really bothered me,” he wrote.
He went on to discuss the things that the producers made them do that aren’t part of their normal life.

“I’ve never written a list of chores for Catherine to do and if I did, I’m pretty sure she would laugh at me,” Sean wrote. “And if I ever asked her to iron my socks, she’d probably leave me. And if I ever thought about ironing my own socks, I’d punch myself.”
He claims that he doesn’t make Catherine clean the house all day and that, while he eats healthy, Catherine usually has nothing to do with it and is typically stuffing pizza down her gullet. (Lucky bio-tch.)
On Twitter, Sean responded to his critics by stating that the show was “scripted. Every bit of it.”
“The idea of me playing the ‘breadwinning 1950′s husband’ is laughable,” Sean wrote on his blog. “Catherine is not someone who stays at home all day waiting for me. She’s ambitious and loves working. She’s also my retirement plan, I’m just waiting for her to make her millions and with all of her new fashion and design endeavors, it’s just a matter of time before that happens!”
Speaking of working…um…what exactly is it that Catherine– and even Sean– does for a job? Catherine was listed as a “stay at home mom to two dogs” (Um?!) and was not shown going to any sort of job during the ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ episode. Before becoming one-half of “Sean and Catherine from ‘The Bachelor"” Catherine’s occupation was listed as a graphic designer, but that appears to be a thing of the past. It seems that her new occupation is “Reality TV star.”
Anyway, Sean added that he was very disappointed that a scene involving religion wasn’t shown on ‘Celebrity Wife Swap.’
“I was bummed, but not surprised, that our bible study scene didn’t get any airtime,” he wrote. “Molly genuinely loved it and I was hoping they’d share some of that.”
While appearing on ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’ may have put a small dent in Sean’s reputation, it likely won’t hurt his “brand.” Sean and Catherine’s mugs will likely be turning up on another reality show in the near future.
