Pros of the Bissell Model 14259 Carpet Cleaner

If you want hot water to help lift up stain, this portable carpet cleaner is a good choice for you. Unlike some carpet cleaners that expect you to pour in hot water and use it before it cools off, this carpet cleaner has a built in hot water heater. It can heat the water up to 25 degrees higher or keep hot water warm, though it won’t take room temperature to a steaming boil.

This unit doesn’t require constant passes with a wand to get most carpet stains up. This is a useful feature if you have limited use of your hands.

The Little Green ProHeat applies a spray of hot water and then suctions it up in one step.

This carpet cleaner comes with a flexible hose to get those small stains too small for the large hooded area. And it comes with a crevice tool that can get those juice stains out of the crevices between the couch cushions.

It has a large 48 ounce dirty water tank capacity.

The Little Green is very portable up stairs, being placed on furniture or moved around a room. This is partially offset by the short brush hose that comes with it. You can order a separate turbo brush good for deep carpets or truly scrubbing upholstery. You can also use the removable front nozzle from the Bissell Spot Clean and use it on this carpet cleaner.

The vacuum head that comes with it does a good job of picking up hair.

Cons of the Little Green ProHeat Carpet Cleaner

This isn’t a steam cleaner, though the “wet” aspect of it is often mistaken for such. It is closer to trying to put a wet cloth on a carpet stain to try to rub out the residue before trying to vacuum it up.

The portable unit has mediocre suction. To get heavy and deep stains, you must apply it multiple times. And then you need to go over it with a handheld vacuum or give it time in order for the spot to dry.

The intake hose is impossible to clean. Suction tends to go down over time if you’re using this on semi-solid messes.

The dirty water tank is hard to clean; don’t use this on wet or soggy biological messes that will stink to high heaven if you have residue left over in the crevasses of the tank after use.
